Axminster Carpets has supplied flooring to the rail industry for decades, providing durable, specification-led carpet solutions for a wide range of rolling stock applications.

With origins dating back to 1755, we manufacture woven carpets in Devon using sustainable British wool. Our 100% wool and 80/20 wool/nylon blends are engineered for long service life, flame resistance, and compliant with EN45545 and other international standards.

We manage design, colour-matching, and production entirely in-house, ensuring consistent quality, repeatability, and full traceability. Carpets are supplied pre-cut to vehicle layout through our kitting service, reducing installation time, on-site cutting, and material waste.

Velcro and all installation components can also be supplied, providing a complete flooring solution. During refits, the Velcro base layer remains in place—allowing new carpets to be fitted quickly with minimal disruption.

All carpets are developed to meet the specific technical and operational demands of the rail environment, including high footfall, acoustic performance, and thermal insulation.

Our products are used across a range of fleet types—from high-speed and intercity to light rail and heritage and are supported by experienced technical teams from specification through to delivery.
